The Lumpkin County HS Rifle Team began their season with an away match at Parkview High School on Wednesday, October 22nd. The match consisted of paper targets instead of the electronic targets the team is accustomed to training on. Paper targets require slight adjustments between each individual target and looking through a scope to determine needed adjustments. Lumpkin trained on paper targets prior to the match. The training paid off as they came away with the win by a score of 1108-1004. The top scorer in the match was Team Captain James “J.T.” Wright (Sr.). Makayla Prosser (So.), Nathan White (So.), Max Causey (Fr.), and Jaycob Molina (Fr.) all scored new personal bests in total score.
