HAYES SECURES STATE BERTH AS SWIM TEAMS MAINTAIN MOMENTUM AT FALL FRENZY
The middle and high school swim teams delivered another powerful performance at the West Hall Fall Frenzy on November 1st, underscoring the team’s continued success and remarkable consistency early in the season.
The meet, held at Frances Meadows, saw the athletes build on their previous efforts, with the teams collectively notching 12 new personal records (PRs). This widespread improvement demonstrates the hard work being put in at every level, with nine swimmers securing at least one Top-10 finish in their events.
Swimmers of the Meet Honored
The High School Swimmer of the Meet was Senior Haley Hayes. he dominated her individual events, claiming 1st place in the 100 Freestyle and 2nd in the 200 Freestyle. She posted not only new PRs but also achieved state cut times in both races. This outstanding achievement marks Hayes’s third consecutive year qualifying for the state championship meet—a true testament to her excellence in the pool.
For the middle school team, Sarah Johnson earned Swimmer of the Meet honors. Sarah has shown great improvement this season. In the final race of the day for the middle school team, Sarah locked in and posed a PR in the 50 Breaststroke.
The coaches praised the sustained effort and momentum across the entire roster. Our team has been very resilient in the face of recent difficulties with our practice facilities. Our swimmers continue to excel and post record times in spite of not being able to be in the water this past week. The team looks forward to being back in the pool this week with the installation of the new heaters.The successful meet sets the stage for the next challenge as the teams will be back in the water this Saturday for the Trojan Invitational in Gainesville.
