Lumpkin County Lady Indians Shine in Wrestling Tournament, Secure Victory with Impressive Results
Lumpkin County, GA – The Lumpkin County Lady Indians wrestling team displayed an outstanding performance over the weekend, taking home top honors in a highly competitive tournament. The team, led by Coach Scott DeGraff II, walked away with an impressive collection of accolades: 9 placers, 6 finalists, and 4 champions, capping off an incredible individual and team performance.
Not only did the Lady Indians dominate on an individual level, but their collective efforts also propelled them to a first-place team finish with an impressive 63-point lead over the second-place team. The victory is a testament to the athletes’ dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
Coach DeGraff shared his pride in the team’s performance, saying, "It was a long weekend of wrestling, but well worth it. The Lady Indians showed up, fought hard, and delivered. We’re not satisfied yet; we’ll keep climbing."

Among the many standout performances, Nora’s exceptional display on the mat earned her the title of Most Outstanding Wrestler, adding to her already impressive first-place finish. The team’s collective success highlights not only their skill but also their ability to perform under pressure.
The Lady Indians' victory marks another chapter in a season full of promise and success. As the team continues to build on its momentum, Coach DeGraff and his wrestlers are looking ahead to even more challenges with the same determination and drive.
“We’re just getting started,” said DeGraff. “This is a group that’s hungry for more, and we will keep pushing to be better.”
