LCHS's own Alex Cardenas was awarded with the Roger L Dancz Young Conductor's Award. This award is given to the most extraordinary drum major at the UGA Summer Music Camp for Drum Majors each year. Along with the plaque, he was given the opportunity to attend a UGA Redcoat Marching Band rehearsal and conduct them on the field. During the pregame ceremony, Alex conducted the "Spell Georgia" and "UGA Fight Song" on the 50 yard line!
