The evening of January 6th was really exciting at Cottrell Gym! It was the first time in a long time that we swept our rivals from Dawson. The JV Girls won 58-28. The the Varsity girls took the court determined, and under the direction of Coach Richerson, came away with a HARD fought win! Lumpkin trailed early, but with tough defensive play by Violet Green and Reagan Richardson combined with shooting stars Maddie Lee (18 pts), EK Reese (12 pts), and the right on time buckets of Alayna Lindley (9 pts), the Lady Indians secured the win 44-39! Next up were our young men! The Indians scored and scored often to tall 82 points for the evening. Meanwhile, a talented Dawson team could only muster 59. Leading the scoring for our guys was Jordan Richerson with 24 points, and Martin Hulsey with 18. It must be mentioned that towards the end of the game Richerson delivered a behind the back pass to Tyler Cortes who delivered a massive slam dunk that almost brought the house down.
