LUMPKIN RIFLE MOVES TO 6-3
The LCHS Rifle Team moved to 6-3 after their win against Roswell HS on Thursday, January 22. The final score of the match was 1128-1002 in their first match since the Winter Break. James “JT” Wright (Sr.) led the match with a score of 298. The following competitors contributed to the win and are listed in order of score. Ivy Stowers (So.) was next with a score of 285 followed by Joey Dechant (Sr.) - 275, Liam Kearney (So.) - 270, and Makayla Prosser (So.) - 265. Justice Kiefer participated in the match for experience.
The team will have two matches at home next week. The first will be on Tuesday, January 27th against Buford HS. On Thursday, January 29th the team will have its Senior Night while hosting Stone Mountain HS. Both matches begin at 5. Please come out and celebrate our seniors, Joey Dechant and James “JT” Wright, and all the work and effort they have put into the sport. The team would appreciate the support of fans in the stands.

Home matches are a great opportunity to better understand the sport and how matches operate for anyone curious about the sport or considering trying out. In addition to helping the team win another match, Liam Kearney and Ivy Stowers were notified that they will continue to the JROTC Service Championship after scoring high in the JROTC Postal match. Members of JROTC programs nationwide are able to participate in a match conducted by the Civilian Marksmanship Program. The Championship will be held on February 5th-7th in Anniston, AL.
