The Lumpkin County High School Band of Gold took 6 representatives this weekend to the University of Georgia JanFest Honor Band. The JanFest Honor Band event is a two-day honor band in which students are chosen to participate based on an audition that they completed three weeks ago. The audition process involved each student recording a prepared piece of music to send in to a panel of judges. Out of thousands of applicants, our LCHS Band of Gold had six students chosen based on the high level of their audition pieces. During this two-day event, the students were given music on the first day, which they rehearsed with different directors for 8+ hours, and performed a full concert on the second day. We are so proud of our LCHS Band of Gold members!
