You may not have noticed whenever we have a home soccer game JV or Varsity, boys or girls - we have opposite sex players running down balls that go out of bounds. Last night when the LCHS Varsity Boys played the Varsity North Hall boys starting at 7:30 pm, a young lady by the name of Payton Schubert patrolled the team sideline retrieving out of bounds soccer balls. She ran, she leaped, she walked, she ran and by the time the game concluded at 10:00 pm (due to overtime) she was leaving to go home when I stopped her. I took the picture above and asked if she had her iphone on her - she did. We looked up how many steps she had put in (she put it in her pocket before the game started) and it showed 10,701 steps. I asked ChatGPT what that translated to in distance and here is what Chat said: - The average step length for most adults is 2.5 feet. - Therefore 10,701 steps would cover approximately 5.3 MILES!
